The Mount

Restaurant photography for The Mount in Henley-in-Arden was a carefully planned project aimed at capturing the atmosphere of this modern gastro pub, headed by acclaimed chef Glynn Purnell.

Set in a 200-year-old building in the heart of the Warwickshire countryside, The Mount offers contemporary British dining in a relaxed, character-filled setting. The photography needed to reflect not just the quality of the food and drink on offer, but also the welcoming atmosphere and full guest experience.

The brief was to create a collection of images that showed the skill and creativity in the kitchen, the atmosphere of the venue, and the details that make The Mount stand out. We wanted to highlight the blend of refined cooking and rustic charm that defines this pub. From the warm wooden interiors to the textures and tones of each dish, the photography was designed to support the venue’s visual identity across web, print, and social media.

Each dish was photographed immediately as it came from the kitchen to retain as much vibrancy as possible. Working alongside the chefs gave me the chance to capture spontaneous moments like the final touches on a plate. These behind-the-scenes shots offer a glimpse into the work and precision that goes into every meal.

Alongside the food, I also photographed a range of drinks, including cocktails, wine, and beers. These images were styled to match the tone of the venue and to help promote The Mount not just as a restaurant, but as a proper pub. Each shot was designed to complement the food photography and build a complete picture of the guest experience.

The interiors were another key part of the shoot. Natural light and careful composition were used to show the layout and feel of the dining room and bar. The result is a set of images that feel real and inviting, helping future customers picture themselves there.

Restaurant photography isn’t just about taking nice shots of the food. It’s about showing the place, the vibe, and the details that make it feel real. For The Mount, that means showing quality ingredients cooked well, and a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere, all coming together under the direction of a Michelin-starred chef.

The final images are now being used for social media, press, and marketing, giving the team at The Mount a versatile library of content to promote the restaurant across all platforms.
